Musical Evening

Talking Heads - Slippery People

It is Friday night and all the lights in the house are out. Spring is listening to her music on her iPod and I am listening to mine on the computer. My god I have a lot of music in the form of MP3s. Monty is laying around on his bed here in the office. With the temperature warming, I am hoping we'll have lots of activity on the condo showings this weekend.

Pink Floyd - Whats... Uh The Deal

But enough of that. I have a beer. It is cold. I chatted with Matt earlier, we were looking at a reunion website for our high school. In May of 2008 there are going to be events. We will likely go. I am going to pretend that I am a successful neurosurgeon, and Matt might too. The story will go that it was a coincidence that we both ended up being world-renowned neurosurgeons.

Rage Against the Machine - Sleep Now In The Fire

We will also be Sanskrit scholars - again, completely coincidental. I wish I could fly Spring to Istanbul so she could meet up with her old school chums. In time. Everything in time if you are patient enough.

Black Sabbath- Electric Funeral

I have started using Google Reader (thanks Matt) and finally I can understand the point of RSS. Some sites publish their content in an XML feed, basically a structured text file, that contains the content of - say - a news story, along with title, author, and other information.

It looks rather convoluted, but translated properly it comes out nicely formatted. And, being a structured text file, it can be easily sent over the WWW without encumbrances of imagery, and site-specific formatting.

Vaughn Brothers - Tick Tock

I have subscribed to numerous sites (just click on an xml link and you're subscribed) - several blogs, news sites, technology stories, etc... and so all I need to do is click on the Google Reader web site, and then scroll through all the new stories/postings that have occurred recently. No more clicking through a multitude of sites to see what's new - just go to Google Reader and it will tell you.

Rush - Lakeside Park

I wish some sites that don't have RSS feeds did have them. Drudge Report would be awesome to have this. So would Debka File, and lots of others I visit daily. If you haven't seen or tried it out, go there NOW.

Leonard Cohen - So Long Marianne

From our Condo library, I picked up The Toronto Star Outdoor Garden Book - The Art, Craft, Science & Delight of Gardening in Southern Ontario. If we are going to buy a house with a back garden, I want to know about how to make the garden look nice. I intend on planting a vegetable garden too.

King Crimson - Discipline

I will not grow marijuana, opium poppies or coca bushes. I will grow potatoes, carrots and peas. I will also grow donuts, as I am partial to honey-dip donuts. I shall also grow curried chicken rotis.

Grateful Dead - Scarlet Begonias
